In this article https://www.medartuniversity.com/blog/salvage-the-future-5/revitalize-your-ride-18

The RP1 was mentioned and some basic tips given.

This forum entry is for the discussion of machines that may be more difficult to wire.

Things like accessories, relay kits, and charging system conversions (stepping up in amperage) can all require more than the basic tutorial.

This is okay because Medart technical team is here to help you though it.

Please post your questions here. Use the format of:

  • Old engine being replaced Model-Spec and Serial
  • New Engine Model-Spec and Serial
  • Images of the wiring Frame, Old harness, and New engine connector.
  • Description of the situation

We will do our best to reply and give you guidance on how to wire the engine correctly for your application.

Note: some repower situations may require engineering assistance. While we are not engineers we will do our best to guide you to the resources needed.

Thank you for being a part of our community. We look forward to serving you.

The RP1 kit is shown here:

This $20 kit will use the old wiring harness connector (cut 6-8” from the connector to the frame). Using the new 6 pin white Molex connector you will strip the wires and crimp the new bullet pins on to the wires. Insert the new pins into the white Molex connector to match the colors of the new engine.

This converts the old wiring pinout from the frame to the new engine without modifying the frame wiring or the new engine wiring. It is essentially a crossover or adapter cable made from the old engine harness.
