Safety Advisory Summary: SFA-020

  • Subject: Kawasaki Stop Sale / Stop Use Notice (Mandatory Interim Action).

  • Affected Part: Kawasaki Voltage Regulator, P/N KM-21066-0785.

  • Affected Mower Series: Cub Cadet Professional Series including ZTX6, PRO-X 600, PRO-Z 500, PRO-Z 700, and PRO-Z 900 models.

  • Affected Equipment Build Dates: Models manufactured between April 01, 2021 and December 15, 2023.

  • Affected Kawasaki Engines: Specific serial ranges of FX801V, FX850V, FX921V, and FXT00V engines.

  • Hazard: Voltage regulators may catch fire at any time, even when the engine is turned off.

  • Required Interim Action:

    1. Immediately place all inventory on Stop Sale / Stop Delivery.

    2. Disconnect the negative battery cable on all dealer inventory, units in shop for service, and quarantine replacement engines/parts.

    3. Secure the disconnected negative cable away from the negative battery post (e.g., zip-tied).

    4. Await official corrective action plan instructions from Kawasaki for warranty reimbursement.
