1. What is the primary purpose of the tests described in this video?
To recharge the battery. To determine if the starter has failed or if there is a poor connection
2. When should you perform these starter tests?
Only when the engine is running at full speed Exactly 24 hours after a failure occurs As near as possible to the conditions present during the actual failure During the first start of every week
3. Before starting the test, what must be done to the ignition system for safety?
Increase the idle speed Disconnect the spark plug lead and ground it to the engine block Fill the fuel tank completely Replace the battery
4. Before using your multimeter, what is the required resistance check for the meter leads?
Less than 0.5 ohms Exactly 10 ohms Greater than 50 ohms The meter does not need to be tested
5. If the voltage reading continues to drop while you are cranking the engine, what should you do?
Continue cranking until the engine starts Increase the multimeter sensitivity Stop the test and perform a battery load test Ignore the reading and replace the starter immediately
