Sobre este fórum
  1. Rehlko/ Kohler Engine Repower Forum

  2. Orientações
Find replacement engines through Rehlko / Kohler

I. Technical Integrity & Safety

  1. Safety First, Always: No "hack" that compromises the safety features of a machine (e.g., bypassing seat switches, removing blade brakes, or pinning governors) shall be promoted as a permanent "fix." If a bypass is used for diagnostic purposes only, it must be clearly labeled as such.

  2. Accuracy Over Speed: Technicians shall strive for "Right the First Time." Posting torque specs, clearance gaps, or electrical values should be verified against service manuals whenever possible.

  3. Root Cause Analysis: We are not just "parts changers." Members are encouraged to explain why a component failed to prevent future occurrences, moving beyond the symptom to the system failure.

II. Knowledge Sharing & Mentorship

  1. The "No-Gatekeeping" Rule: This community exists to elevate the trade. Seasoned veterans should mentor apprentices with patience. We were all "green" once.

  2. Respect the "Fixer" Spirit: We value the ability to repair what others would scrap. Tips on NLA (No Longer Available) part cross-referencing and creative (but safe) machining are highly encouraged.

  3. Attribution: If a tip or a technical bulletin is sourced from a specific manufacturer (Kohler, Kawasaki, etc.) or another technician, give credit where it is due.

III. Professional Conduct & Business Ethics

  1. The "Mechanic’s Bond": Members shall not disparage other shops or technicians by name. Focus on the technical error, not the person.

  2. Customer Transparency: Discussions regarding shop rates, Odoo workflow, and warranty claims should focus on "Best Practices" that provide the most value and honesty to the end-user.

  3. Environmental Stewardship: Tips on proper fluid disposal, battery recycling, and reducing fuel waste are part of being a professional technician in the modern world.

IV. Forum "Signal-to-Noise" Ratio

  1. Search First: Before posting a common question (e.g., "Why is my Honda surging?"), members should use the search function to see existing "Case Files."

  2. Categorization: Post in the correct system-level category. A carburetor question belongs in Fuel & Air, not General Discussion.

  3. Clear Documentation: When posting a "Trick," include the Tool used, the Engine Model/Spec, and the Result. Photos and videos are the gold standard of technical communication.
