How Do I detect the fuel system problem of a leaking inlet needle

Test the needle and seat seal by turning the carburetor upside down while off the engine. remove the bowl and attach a pressure gauge like the TNT-DTT-2301 - VACUMN/PRESSURE PUMP from Medart Engine. make sure the float moves freely and is not cracked or full of fuel.

pressurize up to 7PSI and watch for leaking on the gauge.

Use a solvent if needed to catch escaping air from around the needle.  If leaking replace the needle and seat along with cleaning the whole carburetor and fuel system.
It is highly recommended to use an ultrasonic cleaner like the TNT-SONIC CLEANER - DTI-2/3g ULTRA SONIC CLEANER available at dms.medartengine.com.
